Water cooled exhaust systems

Exhaust system in which the exhaust gas is cooled by injecting water into the gas. This technique is widely used on ships where either the exhaust opening must be chosen either below or just above the waterline, or where visibility with infrared detection equipment is an important issue ( navy vessels).
